Librarian Positions
GVPL librarians perform professional work including providing reference and readers' advisory services to the public and staff, creating and maintaing web-based documents and presenting programs to promote the Library and effective use of our resources.
Qualifications include a MLS or MLIS degree from an ALA accredited library school and preferably some professional library experience providing service to all ages.
Clerical Positions
This position performs the tasks necessary to provide circulation services and physically maintain the collection. Maintains smooth and efficient flow of materials into and out of the library following prescribed policies, procedures, and methods.
Qualifications include high school graduation. Previous library clerical experience an asset. Previous experience with computers or automated systems an asset. Applicants should have 40 words per minute keyboarding speed.
Page Positions
Duties generally consist primarily of reshelving books.
Minimum requirements: must be 15 years of age and must have a Social Insurance Number.
