eResources Explained

The Internet is a sea of information, some of it more reliable than others. Our eResources (electronic resources) are there to help you navigate through this information. GVPL has two types of eResources available:

Online Databases - these are searchable databases which require a license to use. GVPL has purchased the licenses for these on your behalf. If accessing these from within the Library (all locations) no logon is required. If you are accessing these from outside the Library, log on using your Library card number and password (PIN) is required.

Subject Guides - These are hyperlinks to reliable information on a wide variety of subjects. These links are vetted by our staff and updated regularly.

Terms of Service

Remote access to databases that require your library card and password are provided to authorized public library users only. Institutions (such as schools, special libraries and businesses) must subscribe independently for their onsite users, staff, customers, students, etc. Library staff, for demonstration purposes, may present library licensed databases for marketing of library services.
