What Freedom to Read is all about:
Freedom to Read Week (FTRW) is an annual event that encourages Canadians to think about and reaffirm their commitment to intellectual freedom, which is guaranteed under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. FTRW takes place February 21-27 this year, but we’re stretching the celebrations from January 1 to March 31.
How to win a prize:
Review a book that has been challenged in Canada and you could win a prize! A challenge means that somebody thought the book should be banned. Submit your reviews of 100 words or less to teens@gvpl.ca by March 31. For ages 13–18. For more information contact teens@gvpl.ca.
