Reading Buddies

Does your child need a little help with reading? For children currently in (or who've just completed) Grades 1 to 4, Reading Buddies provides reading and writing practice, literacy-based activities, and fun with volunteer teen Big Buddies. Are you a teen looking for volunteer hours? Do you like working with children and enjoy reading? Reading Buddies provides an opportunity to volunteer and be a mentor. To find out more visit our Teen Volunteers page for information and other opportunities!

Reading Buddies runs three times annually in a number of GVPL locations. The fall and winter Reading Buddies sessions run once weekly for eight weeks and the summer sessions run each day for five consecutive days.

Spring 2012 sessions will take place at the Emily Carr, Esquimalt and Oak Bay branches on Saturdays from February 25 to April 14.  French Reading Buddies session will be offered at Oak Bay.  Registration begins January 3.
