Does your child need a little help with reading? For children currently in (or who have completed) Grades 1 to 4, Reading Buddies provides reading and writing practice, literacy-based activities, and fun with volunteer teen Big Buddies. Are you a teen looking for volunteer hours? Do you like working with children and enjoy reading? Reading Buddies provides an opportunity to volunteer and be a mentor. To find out more visit our Teen Volunteers page for information and other opportunities!

Reading Buddies runs three times annually in a number of GVPL locations. The fall and spring Reading Buddies sessions run once weekly for eight weeks and the summer sessions run each day for five consecutive days.

Summer Reading Buddies sessions will be held Monday to Friday, July 08 - August 16 at the following locations:

July 8-12 Saanich Centennial or Central Branch

July 15-19 Central Saanich or Juan de Fuca Branch

July 22-26 Nellie McClung or Bruce Hutchison Branch

July 29-August 2 Esquimalt or Oak Bay Branch

August 6-9 Saanich Centennial or Emily Carr Branch

August 12-16 Nellie McClung or Juan de Fuca Branch
