Branch Information: The Central Saanich Library and Cultural Centre was built in 1989 as part of an Expo 86 Legacy Project. The Library officially opened on February 11, 1989 as part of the Vancouver Island Regional Library system. It joined the Greater Victoria Public Library in January 2002 following a community referendum. The building was designed by Bas Smith and built by Wheaton Construction. The branch is 4,702 sq. ft. and has beautiful views of Pioneer Park.
