April is Poetry Month

Canadians celebrate poetry every April, the month T.S. Eliot called “the cruellest month” in his famous poem “The Waste Land.” Clear away April showers with GVPL: join us for poetry-inspired events and take us up on some reading recommendations.

If you’re visiting any of our branches during the month of April, keep an eye out for our National Poetry Month displays. Our staff have selected titles that will appeal to all ages.

Poetry Month Events

GVPL is hosting a number of poetry events featuring City of Victoria Poet Laureate Yvonne Bloomer, Pulitzer Prize-nominated poet Lynn Strongin, local poet Wendy Morton and author Tiffany Stone.
