DONATE

Everyone has their own library story. Many give because they have fond childhood memories of taking home stacks of books from the library. Others donate because they believe the entire community benefits from a public library. Your donation helps the library offer exceptional collections, vibrant spaces and community driven programs and services.
DONATE TODAY

Vibrant Library Spaces

In 2016, we welcomed nearly 2.5 million people to our 11 community branches. A library is much more than a place to check out a book; it is a community meeting space, a virtual office, a play zone and a destination for lifelong learning. Your donation helps us refresh and renew these busy spaces.

Community-Driven Programs and Services

Your support helps us expand our programs and services to instill a love of reading in kids, help people navigate the online world, welcome newcomers and support job seekers. There are lifelong learning opportunities for every age and every stage of life at the library. In fact, last year, 89,000 people in Greater Victoria attended more than 3,000 library programs and events.

Exceptional Collections

Did you know that library users borrow more, per capita, in Greater Victoria than in other large Canadian communities? We are a community of passionate readers, dedicated to lifelong learning. In 2016, nearly 5.7 million books, magazines, DVDs and digital collections were used by community members. Your support helps us keep up with the growing demand for these popular materials.

Registered Charity

The Greater Victoria Public Library is a registered charity. Donors will receive a charitable tax receipt for all eligible donations in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency guidelines.
Our charitable registration number is 11894 6979 RR0001.
