Esquimalt Branch, 1231 Esquimalt Rd, Victoria BC  V9A 3P1

Art is alive and well at the Esquimalt Branch, which has been part of the Township of Esquimalt since 1969. Local artists are featured on the art wall, and we have two mosaics to enliven the space — Rosemary Murray’s Every Day, Every Street is behind the information desk and Mosaic Garden, created by Rosemary and Geoff Murray, is outside on the concrete column bases in front of the library.

Upon entering the branch, you’ll see our nod to the township’s naval connections – Lieutenant Bruno Snow from CFB Esquimalt. You can’t miss him; he’s a big white bear in full naval regalia, a gift from our friends and neighbours in the Navy.

The Esquimalt Branch is home to the DigiLab, a tech and craft program designed by teens for teens. The idea was initiated by a group of Esquimalt youth who wanted to develop and lead programs that would see like-minded teens meeting and collaborating while exploring new technologies. DigiLab was the result and is a hit with teens 13 to 18.

Between art and tech, our busy branch is a hub of inspiration, with books, videos, magazines and more to pique your curiosity and support you on a journey of learning and discovery.

The branch will be relocating to a new location in the Esquimalt Town Square in the near future.

Esquimalt Branch is OPEN during construction of Esquimalt Town Square.

Construction is temporarily impacting parking and accessibility at the Esquimalt Branch. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. Here is some information to help you plan your visit:

  • The branch is only accessible from Fraser Street (through the newly-completed entrance to the town square plaza, off Fraser Street). This entrance can accommodate users requiring mobility aids. Alternative parking is available on the street and in the south parking lot behind Archie Browning Sports Centre. See the location map for details.
  • For your convenience, library items can be returned to a book drop box in the south parking lot behind Archie Browning.
  • Stay up to date on the Esquimalt Town Square project on the municipal website.
