Patron Suggestions

We welcome suggestions for titles of current interest that meet the library’s selection criteria.

  • We accept suggestions for the collection that have already been published or released.
  • Generally, titles published or released in the last two years are more readily available and are therefore more likely to be ordered.
  • We accept a maximum of five suggestions a week per patron.

You will receive an email response in 2-4 weeks. Due to the volume of suggestions we receive, we are unable to place holds on titles or answer specific inquiries about potential purchases.

Before suggesting a title, please consider the following:

  • Is it already in the library’s collection?
  • Has it been published/released or is it still forthcoming? Online retailers list upcoming publication dates.
  • Is it a popular title, or a title by a best-selling author, or the latest title in a series the library already carries? If so, there’s no need to request it. The library automatically purchases high-demand material.
  • Is it an out-of-print title? For older items, you may wish to borrow the title from another library through interlibrary loan.
  • Have you already submitted five suggestions within the last seven days?
