Goudy Branch, 119-755 Goldstream Ave, Victoria BC V9B 0H9
The Goudy Branch may be the smallest branch in the GVPL system, but it is packed with personality. From its purple and green colour scheme, to the Langford Trolley book case, Goudy inspires curiosity and living with imagination.
Named by former GVPL board trustee and library patron John Goudy in honour of his wife and mother, the branch is nestled in the heart of Langford’s downtown core, near the musical fountain on Goldstream Avenue. You’ll know you’re in the right place when you spot the life-size Alice in Wonderland statue marking the entrance to the branch and the two benches that look like open books.
Once in the branch, the aromas that waft over from the adjacent Poncho’s Coffee will entice you to linger among the books a little longer, browse the Internet a little longer, and visit with our staff, who can help you choose a new title or learn how to place holds and use digital collections.
Small is certainly mighty in the case of Goudy, with lovely, literary touches to spark your curiosity.
