Langford Heritage Branch, 102-1314 Lakepoint Way, Victoria BC V9B 0S2
When the Langford Heritage Branch opened in 2016, City of Langford Mayor Stew Young said “Libraries are key features of thriving, dynamic communities.” We agree wholeheartedly and are pleased to enrich the Westhills community with this new branch.
Upon entering Langford Heritage, you’ll see a giant metal bookcase that spells out R-E-A-D. Painted in glossy primary colours, the shelves are stocked with recommended titles put together by staff. We hope the READ shelf will help you find something new to pique your interest and prompt conversations about ideas, reading and lifelong learning.
The branch’s biggest claim to fame is the Island’s first library vending machine, featuring books and DVDs for adults and kids. It’s accessible 24/7, 365 days a year in the IslandSavings foyer, to satisfy your story craving any time of day or night.
Langford Heritage is a lively, bright space in the same building as the YM/YWCA and the Victoria Conservatory of Music. Some days, you can hear the very faint strains of budding musicians in their lessons, a lovely accompaniment to reading and leisure in the branch. The building is truly a place to care for mind, body and soul.
