Donate Books: Update

October 14, 2020
GVPL is not able to accept donated materials at our designated drop off locations for the time being. Additionally, the Friendshop at the Central Branch will remain closed until further notice.

The Friends of the Greater Victoria Public Library are a group of enthusiastic people of all ages who volunteer their time, energy and ideas in support of the library.

These valued volunteers help to promote the library, raise funds to enhance the library’s materials and programs, and run the Friendshop at the Central Branch.

With a membership of 120, the Friends of the Library keep very busy! Once books are withdrawn from library shelves, they become the property of the Friends of the Library. The Friends make these books available at their book sales and the Friendshop. In addition to offering some great bargains, the sales raise funds that go towards the programs and services of the library. The Friends have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for GVPL!
